Solo, Duo & Improvisation Rules
By ordering wristbands for an event, you agree to abide by the below policy.
SOLO RULES
NO ALTERATION TO CHOREOGRAPHY. TEACHERS MUST FOLLOW THE CHOREOGRAPHY AS SET OUT. ALTERATIONS MAY LEAD TO A DANCE SCHOOL BEING DISQUALIFIED.

STUDENTS MAY ENTER INTO ONE SET ROUTINE PER GENRE.
​
AGE APPROPRIATE COSTUMES MUST BE WORN.
​
NO SEQUINS, FEATHERS OR GLITTER.
​
ONLY BARE FEET, JAZZ SHOES OR PIROUETTE SHOES ARE TO BE WORN.
duo rules
dancers entering a duo will compete in the highest age category of one of the dancers. for example;
dancer a is 7 years, dancer b is 8 years, the duo will compete in 8 years.
​
duos are choreographed by the students or the dance school and must be 4 counts of 8, with the ability to repeat the duo numerous times without stopping.
​
no tricks, acrobatics or gymnastics permitted in any genre.
​
duos should be practised to the playlist provided by royals dance events. a song from the given playlist will be picked on the day of the event.
​
duos should wear similar or matching outfits. solo routine costume rules apply
improvisation rules

dancers should limit travelling movements to prevent accidents.
